The Burmese government is still resisting foreign military assisted aid. But the civilian NGOs are working on it. Could their refusal to allow military assisted aid be due to the fact that they still call their country Burma? Nah! Following talks with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon last week, the junta agreed to drop restrictions on international agencies working in the delta region and said Yangon airport can be used to distribute supplies. It also said supplies can be delivered to the country in civilian ships.
